The Last of Us Part 2 Reveal Trailer

It has been almost three years since the release of Naughty Dogs survival horror game, The Last of Us. The game quickly became one of PlayStation 3’s best selling games and is widely considered on of the greatest games to date. With an opening act that left many players in tears, several lovable characters (Ellie and Joel), stunning visuals, and a compelling story, it is no wonder. Fan’s of the game were thrilled when the developer released the DLC, The Last of Us: Left Behind. The DLC gave them a look into Ellie’s life before she met Joel. Soon after the release of the DLC gamers started questioning if there was to be a sequel to the game.

Today at the PlayStation Experience 2016 in Anaheim, California Naughty Dog released The Last of Us Part 2 Reveal Trailer. The trailer starts in a wooded area that is overgrown with trees and weeds. Among the woods stands an old dilapidated house. Viewers see the shaking hand of Ellie as she begins to strum a guitar . She begins singing an old hymn from the book of Psalms.  As the camera pans to her face, you can see that she has aged a few years from the last game.

As she sings, Joel walks through the home past several recently murdered bodies. Joel walks into the room where she is sitting and asks, “Whatcha doing kiddo? You really gonna go through with this?” Ellies response makes it pretty clear that apparently she plans to move forward with whatever plan she has hatched. Ellie replies to Joel with, “I’m going to find, and I’m going to kill every last one of them.”
